Director of Brand Management (Leading UK Agency) Wine & Spirits Portfolios

A new senior leadership position to work with some of the most desirable Wine and Champagne brands in the world. This is going to be one on the most coveted marketing jobs in the wine industry and you will be leading the team and setting the strategy for one of the UK’s most admired agencies.

Job Purpose/Mission

• Strategic leadership of Brand development across the company portfolio.
• Leadership, line-management and development of the Brand
• Representative of Brand Management on the Management Committee
• Work with the MD to Provide a senior voice on all wine and related matters both internally and externally across the trade.
• Enhance and develop internal running of the brand management function
• To provide senior level category management disciplines.
• Identifying new agencies and cultivating strong relationships to grow the company’s portfolio.

Responsibilities (Activities/Autonomy)
Strategic Contribution
• Defining the strategic direction for growth through continuous monitoring and analysis of the market and identifying opportunities for growth across the business portfolio.
• Develop and put in place strategies for brand growth.
• Together with the Consumer Marketing Director be responsible for the creation and implementation of the brand marketing programmes.

Annual Operational Priorities

• Responsible for the annual strategic planning process, sales forecasts, pricing, and positioning by analysing products, categories, consumer, and market dynamics that ensure long-term brand growth.

• Lead on all Brand matters via monthly Brand Management Committee
• Representative for brand management on the Mentzendorff management committee
• Work with the Brand Managers to maintain and grow affiliations and partnerships.

Team Management

• Management of Brand team, trade marketing manager, and marketing assistant.
• Responsible for performance and competency development of the team.

Support to Sales Team

• Co-creation of the Annual Sales & Marketing plans across the Portfolio.
• Working with sales department to develop pricing strategies to maximise profits
and market share while balancing customer satisfaction.
• Provide support to the sales teams on category management and key insights into the markets.

Knowledge and Experience and Qualifications
• Proven working experience in FMCG or Wine brand management, sales and marketing.
• Knowledge of the industry.
• Desirable : BA in Marketing, Advertising or related field or a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Marketing, Business Management, Digital Marketing or Advertising.

Frequent travel is required in this role. Late night and evening working is also a requirement in line with the needs of the customer. Whilst your focus will be on achieving your objectives there will be times when you are expected to be flexible in your position to help with project & account management workload
