Head of Operations and Logistics (UK Based) Wine Industry

Detailed information on this role

This is a key role for the oversights for the Operations and Logistics functions  for our client. The role will have key links to external 3PL partners, Our internal wine production teams (South Africa and Argentina), operations, sales, finance team and the leadership team.

 Strong relationships with global deep sea freight operators (NZ, AUS, ARG) and operational excellence in Deep Sea Freighting of bulk wine is essential. This role will also require experience in Demand Planning and forecasting and you will be the lead UK person on that.

Additionally, good relationships with key supply chain people in UK retail will be an advantage as well as experience of dealing and negotiating with third party bottlers in the UK /EU.

You will be responsible for the line management of one team member (Planning & Supply Chain Manager)

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

  • Knowledge of the UK and/or European wine trade
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in the logistics of consumer goods
  • Understanding of global freight terms and processes and relationships with main providers
  • Experience in dealing with the UK bottling/ negotiation of pricing and contracts.
  • Track record of managing a robust Demand and Supply Forecasting process

  • C. £60k Base Salary
