Job Title: Head of Communication & Training

Reporting: Head of Marketing  & Sales & Marketing Director (on areas relating to Sales)

Department: Sales & Marketing

Job Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

Communication
• Produce, implement and manage communication strategies in line with Marketing plans
• Monitor and review impact/results of communication strategies to propose more effective approaches
• Produce content for communication materials such as tasting notes, product sheets, website articles,
press releases, booklets and brochures
• Seek new and develop existing relationships with Cigar industry journalists/press contacts
• Act as main point of contact for product information enquiries from media/press
• Seek new and develop existing relationships with industry influencers and people active on social media
for consideration as part of each communication strategy
• Develop cross-industry relationships with press within the luxury, hospitality and drink sectors for
potential collaboration opportunities
Training
• Manage all levels of  training programme including running the Cigar School at head office and/or at venues around the UK when required
• Ensure that all Account Managers and other relevant  personnel are communicating key, up-to date product/industry information
• Support Account Managers through education and training to assist execution of event objectives
• Manage and run the Masters of Havana Cigars course
• Manage and oversee ongoing training and events for Masters throughout the year
• Manage and develop the recently introduced Masters of Havana Cigars Advanced course
• Organise, arrange and host the annual Habanos training week in Havana, Cuba

Events:
• Manage and monitor the company COSA event programme in line with marketing strategies
• Host events
• Support and monitor area managers to host events
• Develop cross-industry relationships with drink and other relevant sectors for events

Skills:
• Strong overall communication skills
• Clear and articulate communication skills in person and on media platforms
• Confident public speaking
• Ability to deliver training sessions and presentations
• Ability to design and deliver presentations using visual aids e.g. Powerpoint
• Excellent written communication for various media formats such as trade articles, press releases, training
modules etc)
• Strong content creation for press articles and product support
• Research skills for accurate, relevant and up-to-date information
• Experience with managing and executing marketing/communication briefs from conception to completion
• Good understanding of the strength of various platforms to shape communication packages with
marketing campaigns and new product releases (media literacy)
• General computer skills e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel and typing skills
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively and efficiently
• Work as part of a team to complete department objectives
• Work proactively and independently
• Well-presented

Location: OFFICE BASED in SW London

Office based role for 5 days during initial 6-month probation period; 4 days office and 1 day work from home
(Friday) after successful probation

Hours/Days: 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday plus occasional evenings as required for sales and/or
customer meetings, customer entertaining, cigar events, trainings or exhibitions.

Holiday: 25 days per annum. Annual holidays accrue on the basis of 1/12th of the annual entitlement for each
month of service in the holiday year

Salary:  up to £55/£60k (Commensurate with experience)  –  plus benefits
