Account Manager – Midlands UK for an innovative distributor of exceptional spirits.

Our client does things differently. Whether that’s the Off Centre (and coveted) brands they create and market, ridiculously popular special releases of rare spirits they do, or the highly sought after agencies they they are entrusted to distribute… there is a lot going on.

We are looking for an individual who has experience of successfully developing and managing  On Trade accounts and wholesalers in the MIDLANDS AREA OF THE UK.

You will absolutely need to have a deep interest and understanding for craft and boutique spirits and how to sell them profitably.

Essential – You will need experience of account managing On Trade accounts, such as small bar and restaurant groups, wholesales and IFT- This is essential as you will be taking on existing key accounts that will  require your  flair and competency to manage  them and your skill to make them grow them.

 

 

 

Detailed information on this role

You’ll develop and manage an account base of customers spanning the Independent On-Trade
(IFT) – leveraging our ever-growing Trade wholesaler supply platform, widening its footprint, and growing the value contributions across these channels within the associated customers.

Acting as a true partner and consultant to the trade, you’ll focus on bringing customers on the wholesale spirits journey with us.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities

Using your knowledge of your territory, maintain existing account relations, while creating new business opportunities across your region, and establish a broad and diverse customer base across the On trade,

Identify business building opportunities, understanding Net Revenue and Margin contributions per brand, to grow out suitable investment plans that drive incremental growth.

Work collaboratively with the internal stakeholders – Brand and Customer Marketing, Route-to-Market (RTM) colleagues and Trade teams – to assist in building appropriate support plans, driving ROI with long term vision.

Use your expertise in the spirits and wholesale categories, and your knowledge of the consumer journey, quoting category trends and insights, to facilitate decision making and product ranging, growing out the basket spend, whilst ensuring a greater presence for our own core brands in trade and wholesalers.

Partner with our 3rd party brands on activations and brand building when necessary within the relevant area and prestige client / partner base (for example 5 star hotels, high-end cocktail bars and restaurants)

Requirements

 

Strong experience of Account Management within the Drinks industry

Experience of new business development within the On-Trade and Wholesale.

Experience and knowledge of the designated region, and the key spirits players within it.

Strong working knowledge of UK spirits business – brands, venues, trends, innovation.

Strong product knowledge spanning all categories of spirits, preferably along with an
understanding of the craft spirits category.

Demonstrative skills in commercial investment builds and management, including an understanding of spend vs costs and overall contributions.

Strong numeracy, language and negotiation skills.

Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Qualification at Higher Level would be desirable, as would degree level education

Curation of cocktail lists and skills in trade marketing would be hugely valuable

 

Location/ Remuneration:

You need to be living in the Midlands, near to Birmingham is ideal as a lot of customer activity will be there.

Up to £45k base

Bonus Scheme (discussed with you at interview stage)

You will need your own car and a clean drivers license – we will provide fuel cards and pay your mileage of course and other expenses
