National Account Manager: UK Off-trade (UK supermarkets) + some On-trade (Italian producer)

Reporting to: Head of Sales UK & ROI

Position: National Account Manager – Off-Trade Focus (although some On-Trade account management will be required alongside your off-trade customers)

Location: home-based in England – ideally within an hour of  a major UK airport

Role & Responsibilities

  • You will be working in a small UK based team of 4, with a key focus on assisting and developing growth within the off-trade retail sector of our business, and you will also be required to understand and support growth within our on-trade sector.
  • Your primary goal is to cultivate and expand relationships within our current key accounts, whilst focusing on new routes to market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to drive off-trade sales growth.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with national accounts, ensuring a strong presence within the UK.
  • Collaborate with the on-trade team to implement cohesive sales strategies.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities, staying ahead in a dynamic and competitive market.
  • Deliver engaging presentations and tastings, to showcase our broad portfolio of wines, across the breadth of the key Italian wine growing regions.
  • Attend industry events, representing Italian Wine Brands with sophistication and charm.

What You Bring

  1. Proven track record in account management within the wine industry, with a focus within the off-trade sector (particularly UK supermarkets).
  2. A deep understanding of the UK wine market, with a touch of experience in the on-trade channel is for certain beneficial.
  3. Passion for Italian wines and the ability to convey our brand story with authenticity.
  4. Exceptional negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  5. Strong analytical abilities to identify market trends and capitalize on opportunities.
  6. A self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

 Rewards

  • Competitive salary (£45,000 – £55,000) with an attractive bonus structure. There could be some flexibility at the upper salary level for the right candidate.
